Diane Blass is excited to join the SJNS staff as a 2s teacher, having previously served as a substitute and SJNS parent. A graduate of SUNY Geneseo with a BA in English, Diane spent several years working in education-based nonprofits including Teach For America and Uncommon Schools before receiving her M.S. in Adolescent English Education in Inclusive Settings from Adelphi University. She spent 4 years teaching 6th grade English Language Arts in the Bronx and was featured in a NYC DOE case study as the highest performing teacher in a pilot program focused on promoting a growth mindset in the classroom. Diane has lived in Larchmont since 2013 with her husband and 2 children. She enjoys reading, writing, comedy, crafting, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
